“The challenge in life, I have found, is to look for and create ways to express your gift of love and then freely give them away.”

—Abie Dean Robinson (1944-2022), a model of servant leadership

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Abie Robinson, an incredible member of the Kennedy King Memorial Initiative family.

Abie Robinson epitomized what Dr. Martin Luther King meant in saying, “Everyone has the power for greatness…because greatness is determined by service.” Abie had a ‘heart full of grace—a soul generated by love’.

With an infectious spirit and an unmatched love for people, Abie’s vivid remembrances of the historic events of April 4, 1968 inspired much of the growth of the Kennedy King Memorial Initiative. Of that night he said, “It made me understand that one person can change things and cause a ripple of hope.”

The Kennedy King Memorial Initiative will truly miss Abie and will seek to continue to build upon his legacy, alongside the legacies of Sen. Kennedy and Dr. King’s, to serve for the betterment of mankind.

Please keep the Robinson family and all of those who knew and loved Abie in your thoughts and prayers. He leaves not only a family who will cherish his legacy, but an entire community that is better for the life he led.
