The First Annual Ride for Peace & Block Party

Take a ride featuring African-American historic sites in our great city!
Date: Saturday, September 2, 2017 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Start: 11 a.m. at Watkins Park, 2360 Martin Luther King Drive
Route: (see map above) Ride past the Madame Walker Theater Center and other African-American history landmarks
End: Noon, at Landmark for Peace memorial, MLK Jr. Park, 1701 N. Broadway
Enjoy Cannonball beer for sale, various food trucks, and a NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY from 11 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Cost: $10 per rider, $100 for up to 15 club members. Passengers ride free. Riders AND passengers must fill out a release.
Ride fee benefits Kennedy King Memorial Initiative (KKMI), a non-profit dedicated to building on the historical events of April 4, 1968 — when Robert F. Kennedy gave a historic speech in Indianapolis on the day of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination. Kennedy supported workers’ rights and equality for all. KKMI’s mission is to heal our civil society with programs that eliminate division and injustice. Proceeds go to support KKMI’s Dream Keepers camp, a youth program focused on peacemaking and civic leadership.
